Work out what’s wrong

Sometimes, depression is just depression. Other times, there’s something going on. I usually have no idea which is which, and when it IS something actually going on, I have no idea what that is. I seem to be very good at hiding that from myself. So here’s a method I’ve come up with for helping me work that out. (Also see Where Did I Fold?, that helps too.)

“If I woke up tomorrow and everything was OK, what would have changed?”

Notice that they’re only part of the picture (AND only part of yourself is entangled in it – some of me is quite fine).

Bring in what’s missing (the positive)

Accept the things I cannot change (life on life’s terms) – notice that that’s how life is for everyone, not just me, and that that’s OK!
